Hottest Hair Trends from S/S 2011

Several fashion galas have just concluded - most notably the New York Fashion Week and the Academy Awards. Not only are the clothes being watched during these events but also makeup, accessories and hairstyle trends. The style, colours and palettes dominating the runways and red carpet during the fashion weeks and award season are most likely to be the numbers we are going to see not only in magazines and on our TV screens but also in the streets, being worn by everyday people.

The hairstyles revealed during the Spring and Summer fashion week were a step back towards the edgy- feminine vibe that was also evident in the clothes that the models wore in the catwalk. The Academy Awards red carpet was filled with stars who styled their hairs in buns and knots – spectators say that this could be due to the fever caused by the ballet drama Black Swan. It’s classy and practical, plus it’s easy to replicate so this is no doubt a favourite.

Another extremely popular hairdo is the smooth and soft curls. This style brings to mind casual sexiness that is quite versatile and is wonderful to wear day or night. The soft and flirty style creates a perfect combination with ruffled and dainty summer and spring dresses for a casual yet elegant look.

But of course, nothing beats the simple and chic natural texture hairstyle. Just blowing dry the hair straight and running your fingers through it is enough to capture the amazing simplicity of this hairstyle. The models that sported this at Rodarte’s show all looked fresh and innocent, and with just the perfect touch of adding a barrette to a side part, it becomes an eye-catching retro-inspired hairstyle that can reflect the wearer’s personality.

S/S 2011 showcased D-I-Y hairstyles - simple, fuss-free, and don't take much time. But then again, a little professional intervention does not hurt. If you want your locks to look catwalk or red carpet ready,  you don't have to be a super model, a New Yorker, or a Hollywood A-lister - there is a Las Vegas Salon that can make you look and feel like a star.
